60 anniversary HMSM

Penn State University professor Michael Tews visits HMSM | 27 November 2017

From 19 to 24 November 2017 Michael Tews, associate professor at the Hospitality Management School of Penn State University (U.S.) visited our institute. Michael’s research and teaching expertise focuses on organizational behaviour and industrial relations.

An interesting week

His visit was meant as a familiarization with our school in view of the sabbatical he will spend with us in the first semester of 2018-2019. But we really managed to make the most out of his short visit! To name but a few: Michael gave a lecture to third year students about the impact of work-related fun on employee performance and turnover and a presentation of his research in our staff-update.
Michael also attended first and second year classes, talked to fourth year management project students and spent an enjoyable evening at student association Amphitryon where chairman Matt Flipse introduced him to the international student community. We ended the week with a research brainstorm at the Research Center of International Relationship management where we designed and planned collaborative research projects for the coming year.

Impressed

Michael was impressed by our institute, our students and their excellent group working skills. We are happy to welcome him again next study year.
