Pauline Thijssen Nahon wins Global Mind Award | 06 September 2019

All our interns write blogs about their intercultural experiences and trends on our platform Curious People during their international  internship. But there can only be one lucky winner of the Global Mind Award!

Award sponsored by Marriott Europe

The award of this edition of the Global Mind Conference, was sponsored by Mariott Europe: two overnight stays for two at Courtyard by Marriott Brussels, courtesy of G.M. Andreas Baer! The lucky winner is Pauline Thijssen who impressed with her blog in which she compared the French love of political debate with the taboo on any talk about politics in Spain. Asking colleagues about the Catalan independence movement was definitely a no-brainer for Pauline.

Global Mind Conference

The Global Mind Conference is organised every semester to commemorate the homecoming of the operational interns who spent 5 months in different corners of the world. During this edition, Learning and Talent Development Manager Andreas Baer allowed students to pick his brain about burning issues in hotel management.

Breakout sessions

The students also shared their experiences in a breakout session in small groups moderated by our staff members. The breakout sessions help students to reflect on their internship experience on topics such as work-life balance, support from supervisors and peers, and of course on what they learned from their internship!

We would like to express our gratitude to Marriott for their generous contribution to making this homecoming day a joyful and informative experience!
