Paul Bejzcy wins Global Mind Award sponsored by Marriott at 20th Global Mind Conference | 15 February 2019

All our interns blog about their intercultural experiences and trends on our platform Curious People during their international  internship. But there can only be one lucky winner of the Global Mind Award!

Global Mind Award

The award of this jubilee edition of the Global Mind Conference, was sponsored by Mariott: two overnight stays for two at Courtyard by Marriott Brussels, courtesy of G.M. Andres Baer! The lucky winner is Paul Bejzcy (on the photo left) who impressed students and staff with his blog 'just don't do it' about race and inequality in the USA as shown by the case of NFL player Colin Kaepernick. Paul is not only a great writer, but also a culturally sensitive global mind with a social heart.

Trendspotting & Innovation Award and Vlog Award

Other awards at the Global Mind Conference were the Trendspotting & Innovation Award (won by Julia Stolk; on the photo below on the right) and the Vlog Award (won by Alec Wolfs and Maxime van Esseveld)

Global Mind Conference

The Global Mind Conference is organised every semester to commemorate the homecoming of the operational interns who spent 5 months in different corners of the world. During this edition, Learning and Talent Development Manager Hossam Haggag delivered a keynote about the success factors in becoming a hospitality leader. The students shared their experiences in a breakout session in small groups moderated by our staff members. The breakout sessions help students to reflect on their internship experience on topics such as work-life balance, support from supervisors and peers, and of course on what they learned from their internship!

Paul, Julia, Alec and Maxime: HMSM is proud of you!

And of course we would like to express our gratitude to Marriott for their generous contribution to making this homecoming day a joyful and informative experience!
