Overview of costs for non-EEA students study year 2019-2020

The overview of costs given below applies to non-European Economic Area (EEA) students. Non-EEA students are those students who are not a national of one of the countries that make up the European Economic Area or who do not have Surinamese or Swiss nationality.

The table below details annual costs, with information relating to the various types of cost provided underneath.

Note If you started in the academic year 2018/2019 or earlier and you didn’t interrupt your studies the tuition fee is € 8,900.

Campus room

The first new campus rooms will be ready and available in February 2020. If you will be one of the lucky students to be assigned a new campus room, please take into account a rent increase. The rent for the new campus rooms will be announced on this page in April 2019.

Tuition fees

The institute tuition fees stated apply only to students who satisfy EEA nationality requirements.

The following exception applies:
Even if you are not a national of an EEA country, you may satisfy EEA nationality requirements if you are a relative (in accordance with Directive 2004/38/EC) of EU citizens living in the Netherlands, or if you have a residence permit on the basis of which you qualify for student grants and loans under the Dutch Student Finance Act 2000.

Additional costs

Duty clothing and knife set
You will need to purchase your duty clothing and a knife set when starting your study programme. The estimated cost of duty clothing and a knife set is € 628.
