TEFAF | March 16 – 24, 2019

Established in 1988, TEFAF is widely regarded as the world’s pre-eminent organization of fine art, antiques and design. TEFAF Maastricht shows you more than 7,000 years of art history. An event not to be missed by collectors, representatives of museums and art lovers. 275 of the world's leading galleries from 20 countries present works by Old Masters and antique works of art, as well as a wide range of modern and contemporary art, jewelry and works on paper.

It’s not cheap, but this is an event you have to at least visit once in your life!

CARNIVAL | 3 – 5 March, 2019

Starting at 13.30 hours, true to tradition, the “Grand Parade'' takes you through the streets of Maastricht on Carnival Sunday. A large range of beautifully dressed people and beautiful decorated carriages pass by.

The route: start at the Wycker Brugstraat, Sint Servaasbrug, Kesselskade, Hoenderstraat, Markt, Grote Gracht, Helmstraat, Vrijthof on to the Keizer Karelplein.

Also on Monday and Tuesday the city is full of Carnival celebration. Immerse yourself in this greal Limburg tradition!

The Student Hotel | Art Night | March 22, 2019 | 19.00 hours

During Art Night you will create your own artwork; a local Art Night artist will show you how to do it all. Bring your friends with you, come alone or go on an Art Night date. It’s all about being creative, meeting new people, and not only leaving with your own artwork, but also in a good mood and with fantastic memories! You do not need painting skills and we will supply the materials! Drinks and food are available on site at the usual prices.

SPHINX PASSAGE | Open daily from 08.00 to 20.00 hours

The Sphinxpassage is a 120 meter long covered tile passage between the Eiffel building and Pathé cinema. Nearly 30,000 tiles bring the Sphinx history of Maastricht in word, image and objects to life.

Around the Eiffel building, the Sphinx quarter is rapidly developing into a modern, vibrant city district. The restoration of the Eiffel building has been completed and The Student Hotel has been filling a large part of the building since September 2017. Be sure to have a drink at The Commons or at Lumière afterwards.

JAZZ OPEN NIGHT GUITAR | March 18, 2019 | 20.00 – 23.00 hours

This year the jazz department of the Conservatorium Maastricht organizes a number of open evenings to give curious jazz musicians the opportunity to get to know different disciplines. On March 18 jazz guitar is on the program. All guitar teachers and students are there to share their music and knowledge. You are most welcome to share in the fun! Location: Tapijn.
