What we offer
Internships abroad
During your studies at Hotel Management School Maastricht, you will go on an operational internship abroad! We have internship positions available in Europe and Asia, as well as The United Arab Emirates or the United States of America.
You will go on this internship during your second year, for 5 months, and work in an international 4 or 5 star hotel at the the Rooms Division department (at the Front Office or in Housekeeping) or the Food & Beverage department. We work together closely with renowned hotels and we are able to guarantee you a high quality and educational internship.
In your fourth year you will do another internship, your management internship, as the final part of your studies. This internship can be in the Netherlands or abroad, in a hotel or another hospitality related company. This depends on the specialization you choose during your studies. Even if you stay in the Netherlands, you're internship can still have an international orientation!
Go on exchange
Gain more international experience, and go on an exchange! During your third year, the Hotel Management School Maastricht offers the opportunity to go abroad and study at one of our partner institutes. During your exchange you follow classes there, live in a different country, make friends from over the world, obtain new skills and international experiences.
We have partners within the EU as well as overseas. You can choose to go on exchange instead of doing your minors. The exchange period is for one semester, which equals 20 weeks (5 months).
Develop a Global Mind
Our programme has an international focus, because the hospitality industry is international and diverse.
That is why we teach you how the hospitality industry works in other countries. During your time at Hotel Management School Maastricht, you will come in contact with students, staff, guests and colleagues from other countries. You will gain knowledge about other languages, norms and values from other countries, various cultures, and how to work together. For many students, this is their motivation to choose for the hospitality industry.
International community
During your time at Hotel Management School Maastricht you live and study in Maastricht, the most international student city in the Netherlands.
On our campus, we welcome a diverse community, with an average of 15% international students in the first year. Living together creates a unique experience, where you will also improve your English skills while working, studying, and interacting with students from various backgrounds and cultures. Form friendships that will last a lifetime!
