First-Generation Fund

First-generation students, who are the first in their family to attend higher education, often face unique challenges, varying from a lack of familial experience in the higher education system nor the hospitality industry, to financial limitations, that may prevent them from pursuing a degree in Hotel Management. For many, the costs associated with the first year of our bachelor can make it seem out of reach. 

This fund aims to ease this burden. We want to encourage all students with talent and ambition, from different backgrounds and nationalities, to apply for our bachelor Hotel Management.

The tuition fee for our study programme is higher than usual because we offer small-scale and intensive education. This intensive approach provides a higher quality learning experience for students. Particularly the first year at HMSM has an intensive study programme that offers limited spare time for part-time jobs. In addition, first generation students may find it more difficult to navigate through student life and living on campus. Without (financial) support from their families, many first generation students might feel they have no choice but to select a less expensive bachelor programme.  

By contributing to the First-Generation Fund, you help ease the financial strain on these students, enabling them to focus on their studies and personal development without the pressure of loans or part-time work.
