Are you the first in your family to go to a higher education? Studying and all that comes with it is often a new and unfamiliar experience than for those who follow in the footsteps of parents, brothers or sisters. 

The First Generation Scholarship supports students who are the first in their families to pursue higher education. This scholarship helps ease the financial burden of the intensive first year at HMSM, covering the additional tuition fee and essential expenses like a knife set and Tenue de Ville (school uniform). The total grant is €2,195,-. To apply, students must demonstrate financial need and have a conditional offer into the bachelor Hotel Management. Applications can be submitted from October 2025. 

If it is your dream to prove yourself in the hospitality industry, a lack of funds should not hold you back from realizing your ambition. Through Foundation HMSM some ambitious students have received a scholarship that has allowed them to enroll in our small-scale, intensive, international bachelor programme in hotel management.  

These scholarship students stated they see it as a personal achievement to receive this scholarship. They see it as a reward for their motivation and the effort they have put into their education so far. With the scholarships provided through Foundation HMSM, these non-EU students had the opportunity to enroll and become part of our global network. 

At this time, Foundation HMSM has no available resources for new scholarships, as all funds are currently allocated to supporting existing scholarship students. However, exceptional and ambitious students who successfully pass the HMSM selection process, may be considered to participate in a fundraising campaign.  

Studying is more than acquiring relevant knowledge. We expect our students to develop themselves inside and outside the classroom. The Extra Mile Fund enables you to organize and participate in extra-curricular activities and events that challenge, inspire, and connect. 

The Extra Mile Fund is here to support you! This fund provides financial resources for a wide range of extra-curricular group activities that contribute to the personal growth of our students. Whether it’s health and well-being, social responsibility, professional development, or innovation, we’ve got you covered. 

The fund offers guaranteed grants to help cover the costs of organizing events, provided your activity contributes to at least two core HMSM values. You can receive up to 50% of your activity's budget (with at least one other source of income), with funding for essential event costs like speakers or venues. 

The grant amount depends on the number of HMSM students involved. A higher number of participants increases impact and strengthens the application. At least 10 HMSM students must participate, with a maximum of €50 per student. 

Do you want to organize an activity for your student group? You can apply from 2026 and make the most of your HMSM experience! 

Are you ready to turn your bold business idea into practice? In 2026 we will start a competition for ambitious students and recent graduates who want to launch or expand their own business. 

This competition offers you the opportunity to develop and launch your own product or concept with professional guidance and support. Winners will receive prize money to invest in the further development of their idea, mentorship, and access to the strong network of our community.
