Welcoming our operational interns home
After six months of international work experience in the international luxury hotel industry, our HMSM operational interns were warmly welcomed back during the Global Mind Conference, hosted by the Internship Office and the Lectoraat Global Minds at Work. This special event celebrates their return, offers space to share cultural insights, and provides a look ahead at the next phase of their HMSM journey. This edition featured an inspiring keynote by Pierre Rieu, Director at André Rieu Productions. In an engaging session shaped by our students’ thoughtful questions, Pierre shared his unique perspective on leading international teams, navigating the complexities of large-scale operations, and his latest venture: owning and managing the historic Hotel Derlon on Maastricht’s Onze Lieve Vrouweplein.
Martin Hendricks, CEO of Black Label Hotels, also joined us to share exciting updates on his expanding hotel group. He had the honor of presenting the Global Mind Award for Best Student Reflection to Jebbe de Vries – congratulations!
We’re proud of all our returning students and wish them a smooth transition into their 5th semester. Welcome home – and keep that global mindset growing!
