Operational internship

In your second year, you will spend five months on an operational internship abroad. You will work in the Rooms Division department, such as Front Office or Housekeeping, or in the Food & Beverage department of an international four- or five-star hotel. You can choose from destinations in Europe or Asia, as well as the United States or the United Arab Emirates. Together with our Internship Office, you will determine which location best suits your goals and interests. Thanks to these close partnerships, we are able to guarantee a high-quality internship for all our students.

Before starting your internship, you will attend our Internship & Career Event (ICE). During this event, hotels, organisations, and companies introduce themselves, you take part in workshops, and you create a personal development plan. This gives you a strong foundation for your internship experience.

Management internship

The final five months of your programme at Hotel Management School Maastricht are dedicated to your management internship. This internship can take place either in the Netherlands or abroad. Depending on your chosen profile, you will complete your internship at a hotel or another hospitality-related company. As part of the internship, you will work on a specific assignment. The management internship is excellent preparation for your first professional role. It is not uncommon for companies to offer interns a permanent position after graduation.
